OUR MISSION STATEMENT
In accordance with the principles of God’s word, promote the spiritual, cultural, intellectual and physical development of all at Genesis Academy and prepare our students for the opportunities, responsibilities of adult life.
OUR OBJECTIVES
Genesis Academy seeks to:- Make available an appropriate academic and vocational skills training programme for students with learning challenges between the ages of 12 to 21 years (main school) and 18 to 25 years (Adult class) who require special individualized programmes.
- Establish academic/vocational standards of excellence with a focus on developing
- Christian attitudes and principles
- Independent learning skills
- Sustainable life and vocational skills
- Develop positive self-esteem and leadership qualities in the students.
- Encourage the expression of ideas within a disciplined framework.
- Prepare our students for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.
In striving to meet the stated objectives, the school’s administration seeks to attain the following:
- To create a happy, sensitive and stimulating environment where each person will feel welcomed and at home. Our student teacher ratio is 16:2.
- To provide an environment within which teaching, non-teaching staff, Board members, parents and other members of our school community can work together in harmony for the development of all our students.
- To provide a place where students are consistently challenged by a programme of work which develops their talents to the fullest. A place which provides a basis for social and academic skills, where autonomy and self-discipline are emphasized.
- To provide a relevant curriculum which includes all the fundamentals to enhance the development of reading, writing, mathematics, computing and interpretative skills while embracing biblical teachings.
- To equip each student to cope with the challenges of the next stage of their life/education by trying to ensure that each student achieves his/her full potential.
