Our intellectually challenged, are blessed with a diverse extent of gifts, and the performing arts encourage the expression of these talents within a disciplined framework.
CULTURAL DRUMMING
This club is a unique and creative experience for both those musically gifted, and those not. The students have been taught how to use the proper technique for playing a drum as this is very important for clarity of each rhythm (different types of drums have different tones). Our drummers have been gold and silver medalists in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCPD).
DANCE
Our students have the opportunity to express themselves creatively and enjoy dance movements and rhythms to various genres of music. They are natural performers and get to showcase their talents at concerts and other school functions throughout the year.
THE ARTS
Many of our students have excelled in the Arts having had the opportunity to participate in the Airports Authority Art Competition over the past (2) years. They have placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in these competitions and have their pieces showcased at the Norman Manley Airport.
JEWELRY
Our students’ artistic talents are also expressed through the design and production of jewelry pieces such as earrings, necklaces and bracelets. These are sold at market fairs and through our website, with profits reinvested in the jewelry programme.
